Heisey Glass dog figurines were produced by the A.H. Heisey Company of Newark, Ohio, from 1895 until the factory’s closure in 1957. Heisey is celebrated among glass collectors for its exceptional clarity, brilliant finish, and the distinctive ‘Diamond H’ trademark pressed into each piece. Their canine figurines — including the beloved Heisey Scottie, Heisey Poodle, and the rare Heisey Plug Horse — are among the most recognized American art glass collectibles. Unlike painted ceramics, Heisey value lies in the glass quality itself: clarity, absence of bubbles, and the presence of the intact Diamond H mark. Reproduction Heisey pieces exist; the mark is the primary authentication point. Original Heisey moulds are now held by the Heisey Collectors of America.
