An extraordinary authentic vintage French porcelain trinket box, hand-painted (Peint Main) in Limoges, France, by the prestigious house of Rochard.
Measuring 2″ tall by 2 1/2″ long by 2″ wide, this charming box depicts an alert brindle French Bulldog with erect bat ears seated atop a marbled cobalt-and-gold oval base.
Beside the dog rests a sculpted porcelain pillow with a gilded twisted-rope ring perch. Crafted with ornate brass mountings and a bow-shaped clasp, the box opens to reveal a sweet hand-painted blue ribbon motif inside.
The base bears the green “ROCHARD Limoges Original” hallmark along with the handwritten script “Limoges France Peint Main c.L”.
