An extraordinary vintage English Setter porcelain figurine, produced in Germany by the world-renowned Rosenthal porcelain factory circa mid-20th century.

Sculpted by master animalier artist Fritz Heidenreich (1895–1966), this fine porcelain sporting dog (Model #5053) measures 7″ tall by 10 1/4″ long by 3″ wide and captures the alert, graceful posture and athletic silhouette of the breed.

Hand-painted in soft underglaze tones with meticulous attention to the dog’s expressive face and wavy coat feathering, the piece is finished in a brilliant high-gloss glaze.

The underside is clearly stamped with the official green Rosenthal factory backstamp and incised with both the model number 5053 and “F. HEIDENREICH” artist signature.
