This exquisite terracotta Terrier dog was created in the Friedrich Goldschneider Factory between 1890-1900. This is a very large dog, standing proudly at 14 1/4″ tall x 17 1/2″ long x 8″ wide. He is in excellent condition. The detailing of this dog is extraordinary! He has piercing deep brown and black glass eyes that make him look quite real. His red collar is painted on, as you would expect to see on such a terracotta dog. He also came to us with a crack on his muzzle that extends under his chin. It is not noticeable until you look for it. It is tight, and does not appear to have any risk of extending. Otherwise, he is in excellent condition, and very charming. He is truly a magnificent example of this form of art, and would be a treasure for any collector to own, as well as an elegant and rare addition to your home.
