An extraordinary and exceptionally rare vintage animated bar advertising display for “Black & White” Blended Scotch Whisky (James Buchanan & Co. Ltd.), produced in Japan for sole U.S. distributor The Fleischmann Distilling Corporation circa 1960s–1970s.

Designed to replicate a wooden shipping crate, this electric motorized counter display measures 7″ tall x 8″ long x 6″ wide.

When plugged in, the top lid—marked with “Glass With Care” and The Queen’s Award to Industry emblem—automatically opens as a black Scottish Terrier and white Westie pop up, moving their heads and opening their mouths to bark before retracting as the lid gently closes.

The back features an operational “Bark / Mute” selector switch alongside the original Chicago marketing and Japanese maker markings.
