Vintage McDonald Scottish Terrier Pipe Holder

This charming, McDonald, Scottish Terrier dog sits in anticipation on a polished, walnut wood base. The base has a hollow area that serves as a resting place for the bowl of a pipe (not included), while the stem of the pipe would rest between this cute pup’s ears. Although some of the brass has worn down to the base metal on this little guy, he is still in great vintage condition. The underside of the base shows two original stickers. One identifies the wood as “Genuine Walnut” and the other says “DUK-IT McDonald Products Corp Buffalo, NY. McDonald products was founded in 1930 and was sold in 1961. They developed, manufactured and sold a variety of ornamental ashtrays, pipe racks, humidors, etc…with their most famous product being the “Beanbag Ash Tray!” At 3″ tall x 4 1/2″ long x 2 1/2″ wide, this vintage collectible pipe holder is a great addition to a scottie collection, as well as a wonderful decorative desk piece.
