Bulldogs come in all shapes and sizes, and this sweetheart, Bulldog pup was made by the Imperial Glass Company in this high gloss finish between 1969-1975. It is shown in the book “Slag & Marble Glass: The Prominent Years” by N. Taves & D. Jennings, on page 19. With the large bow around her neck, we like to believe that she is a little girl, sitting, perhaps for a portrait! She sits 3″ tall x 4″ long x 1 3/4″ wide. She appears to be in excellent condition, but on close inspection with a magnifying glass, she has a hairline crack along her back. It could have been done during manufacture, because it is under the surface, and does not appear to impact the structure of the piece. Done in rich chocolate and caramel tones, she is truly a “gem”, and would make a wonderful addition to a Bulldog collection!
We are so happy this Bulldog found a new home. Would you like to find a vintage or antique dog collectible and bring home your own new friend? Just check out our shop to see our currently available antique and vintage dog collectibles.
