This magnificent hand carved, Black Forest Terrier head hook might have once been used as a whip hook, or one half of a gun rack. The detailing of this dog’s head is extraordinary!
This magnificent hand carved, Black Forest Terrier head hook might have once been used as a whip hook, or one half of a gun rack. The detailing of this dog’s head is extraordinary! You can see fur lines, and an open mouth, showing teeth and the dog’s tongue. He has glass inset eyes that look almost real. While the wooden plaque that the dog’s neck is mounted to shows some significant scratches, the dog’s head and neck are in excellent condition. There is a very old metal piece screwed onto the back. This is a “one-of-a-kind” piece that can be re-purposed to use as a leash hook. Or, don’t use it for anything but a decorative piece. It’s fantastic to just look at!
