This unique, Art Deco Scottie Dog, was once designed to be used as a matchstick holder. His tail lifts up over his back, and rests securely between his ears. This action opens the compartment in his back and reveals a carved groove on the underside of his tail, that might have been used to strike a match. He stands 5 1/2″ tall x 6″ long x 2 1/4″ wide. He is wearing an intricately crafted spiked collar and his head can be moved from side-to-side. His eyes are made of painted metal, and although there is some slight paint loss to the pupil of one eye, he still has a very engaging facial expression! The wood stain is worn a bit on his back, but he is in otherwise excellent condition. He is an extraordinary example of Black Forest artwork, and is also a gift that can be re-purposed as a trinket box, or a decorative desk item.
