This vintage carnival chalkware Pekingese dog captures the wonderful personality of the breed, as well as the fun of the era in which she was made.

This beauty looks like she got into Mom’s makeup case and isn’t completely pleased with her results!

She was most likely made during the 1920’s when the chalkware pieces were airbrushed in order to speed up the manufacturing process. This lead to a “smudging” of details and gave them their comical, but also endearing personality. Such figurines are considered highly collectible for their irresistible, kitschy charm.

This captivating canine measures a full 7 1/2″ tall x 10 3/4″ long x 4 1/4″ wide, and she is in excellent condition.
