These two animated Sealyham Terrier pups are almost ready to jump off the page! This original, gouache painting was done by artist and Disney illustrator, Nino Carbe (1909-1993). It appears that is was most likely made as an interior illustration for a book. Directions regarding size are in pencil at the bottom, along with pencil lines along the margins. It is signed by Nino Carbe in red ink. Nino Carbe was a notable artist for Disney, illustrating for movies such as “Fantasia, Bambi, and Dumbo”. He also illustrated a number of children’s books for publisher Samuel Lowe Company. This particular painting was done for that line of books c.1950’s. This absolutely adorable portrait of these bright-eyed pups was done on heavy artist’s board and measures !0″ x 10″. The original, clear acetate covering is included, but it is framed to keep it from damage. There is a slight tape residue across the top margin, and minor soiling to the very edges, but the painted area (8″ x 8″) is in excellent condition.
