This porcelain West Highland Terrier figurine was designed by Ada Bonfils for Royal Copenhagen in 1952.
This frisky pup has got a hold of Dad’s slipper, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to give it back anytime soon!
It is done in a high gloss finish in white, deep forest green, tan and touches of grey and black.
It measures 3 3/4″ tall x 4″ long x 2 1/4″ wide, and it is in mint condition.
It is stamped “Royal Copenhagen Denmark” on the underside, along with the # 145. More often, you would find this model stamped with the #3476.
Although, there is no significant reason why the model number changed over time, it is something that Royal Copenhagen did occasionally, most likely for internal accounting reasons.
However, those marked #145, as this sweet Westie puppy is, are harder to find. Fewer were made, making them more collectible.
This wonderful West Highland Terrier dog captures perfectly the mischievous “head down, rump up” stance of this playful breed.
It is the perfect addition to any Westie collection, or a fabulous gift to a West Highland Terrier lover.
