This Royal Doulton large German Shepherd porcelain figurine has exquisitely captured the courageous spirit of this wonderful breed.
It was designed by Frederick Daws, and modelled after Champion Benign of Picardy (born in 1931.)
This very realistic porcelain German Shepherd dog figurine is the largest canine model done by Royal Doulton, measuring a full 7 1/2 ” tall x 9 1/2″ long x 3 1/2″ wide.
He was issued in 1937, and retired in 1960.
This German Shepherd is in excellent condition, and looking at the close up picture of his face, it is easy to see his intelligence in his alert and watchful gaze.
