One of the “hard-to-find” Mortens Studio dog figurines, this sweet Pug dog is in extraordinary condition!

The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a giftware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.

A “must-have” for any collector of Mortens Studio dogs, and a unique and beautiful gift for any dog lover, this standing Pug dog stands 4 1/4″ tall x 5 1/4″long x 2 1/4″ wide.

He is clearly marked on his underside and also has a foil label on his left side.
