This standing, adult Cocker Spaniel figurine was created by Mortens Studio in the 1930’s – 1940’s.
Standing 5 1/4″ tall x 7 1/2″ long x 2 3/4″ wide, she is so elegant and realistic-looking, displaying her gentle and affectionate nature.
The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a gift ware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.
She is in excellent, flawless condition, and carries the Mortens Studio makers mark on her underside.
This Cocker Spaniel is the perfect addition to any Cocker Spaniel or Mortens Studio Canine Collection.
She would also make a wonderful gift to any Cocker Spaniel lover.
Please note that we currently also have the matching Cocker puppy in stock The last photo shows how wonderful they look together.
