This exquisite, antique, sterling silver Vesta Case Match Safe was made by Nathan & Hayes  of Chester, England c.1898.
The hallmarks for this piece are clearly stamped on the side of the case, and can be clearly seen when the case is open. .

Unique, and rare, this match safe or vesta case has a highly detailed relief of a Scottish Terrier dog.

The textured striker portion along the bottom is in excellent condition. It has it’s original, round hoop attached, and the lid opens and closes quite well. It is 2 1/2″ tall x 1 1/2″ wide, and it is in excellent condition.
This is an extraordinary piece for a collector, as well as a unique and exquisite gift for any Scottish Terrier enthusiast.
