This very classy Art Deco Bulldog ashtray was produced by Nuart of N.Y.C. in the 1930’s. It is a very heavy piece that is “bronze clad” or painted over very heavy white metal. The best part, of course, of this Art Deco Bulldog ashtray is the classic standing Bulldog that looks to be guarding the tray. The detail on him is fabulous, showing all his muscles and wrinkles as well as a very detailed collar. An alabaster insert turns the tray into an ashtray, and it can be easily removed and placed back in. It measures 8″ long x 3 1/2 tall x 4″ wide and it is in great condition with a few minor spots of missing paint.
This is a great piece to also repurpose as a valet to hold cufflinks, keys, rings, etc… Also an amazing find for any Bulldog enthusiast.
