Extraordinary in every way, this porcelain figurine depicts three puppy dogs playing, or “ruff-housing” as it were.
The details, from their pudgy bodies to their charming expressions and very realistic eyes, are so captivating, it makes you want to share in their fun.
This figurine is made of faience, a fine, tin-glazed pottery, and it is in excellent, flawless condition.
Of the three puppies, the tallest one seems to be the instigator of this tussle. He’s got a hold on the second puppy’s ear, and his paw is planted firmly on the third puppy, who seems to have managed to sleep through it all. What a great story and many reasons to enjoy it from all angles.
These frolicking puppy dogs are on a high gloss, black, rectangular base.
This figurine is unsigned, but it comes to us from Belgium, and believed to be originally created in France in the 1930’s.
It measures a full 10 1/2″ tall x 19 3/4″ long x 7 1/2″ wide.
