Can we “Fetch” a classic Scottish Terrier
or perhaps another new friend for your consideration?
This framed vintage print of two Scottish Terrier dogs was originally produced by Morgan Dennis of Boston, MA (1896-1960), and then used in 1935 as an advertisement for The Black and White Scotch Whiskey Company.
Shortly after, the word “LISTEN” was added to the print. The pair of Scotties were already tilting their heads in the original art, so it worked well to make them appear as though they were actually tilting their heads to listen to the sound of a smoothly running auto engine that used Texaco oil. That is how they became the popular face of Texaco Oil as well.
Measuring 11 1/2″ tall x 14″ long, this print is in great condition. There are some “age spots” along the very top of the print,. It is framed under glass, in its original black wood frame. PLEASE NOTE: Any white spots in the close up photo is just a reflection on the glass.
It is perfect alone, but it would also be wonderful combined with other Scotties as part of a canine art wall gallery.
