This exquisite portrait of a Saluki dog was done by the French artist, Jacques Rebour (early 20th century.) it is a hand-colored engraving that is signed within the image, and also pencil signed outside of the image. The image itself is 5″ tall x 3 3/4″ wide. Framed it is 8 1/2″ tall x 7″ wide. While the portrait is in excellent condition and framed under glass, the frame looks to be the original one and shows wear along the edges.
The portrait is a highly detailed character study of this intelligent, beautiful, but reserved breed. If you are a Saluki dog enthusiast, you couldn’t find a more tender, loving rendition of this dog. If you are a canine enthusiast, who loves to build out your collecting to include many breeds, this elegant beauty would be an amazing addition to your canine gallery.
