This exquisite figurine captures the gentle, devoted look of this German Short-Haired Pointer dog so well, it is almost difficult to pull your eyes away from it! Standing 5″ tall x 7″ long x 2 3/4″ wide, this dog carries all the poise and elegance of this sporting breed. This wonderful dog was designed and produced by Mortens Studio. The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a giftware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.

This dog is in MINT condition! Any specks on the photos are merely specks of light caught by the camera. It is stamped on the underside, but also carries the foil sticker “Royal Design by Mortens Studio” that further distinguishes it as a high quality figurine. Combine the characteristic beauty that is the standard of this studio’s design work, with the stately beauty of this amazing breed, and you have a collector’s piece that is just perfect in every way!
