Can we “Fetch” a classic Cocker Spaniel
or perhaps another new friend for your consideration?
We are so excited to have this matched pair of Cocker Spaniel Pups, designed and signed by Jan Allan (Elisabeth Anne Philbrick Hall 1917-2009.) Considered as one of the finest American animal sculptors, she and her husband were quite fond of dogs. He was a professional dog handler, and she was an assistant handler. During the course of their lives together they bred Cocker Spaniels, as well as Kerry Blue Terriers.
This pair of Cocker Spaniel pups are a testimony of her love for the breed. They are not only adorable, but they are in excellent condition. They are chalkware figurines, painted in a soft matte grey/brown that almost makes them look like wood. The seated dog is 4 1/2″ tall x 3 1/2″ long x 4 1/2″ wide. The reclining dog is 3 1/2″ tall x 6″ long x 3 3/4″ wide. The reclining dog is signed by the artist, the seated one is not. We believe that is because they were sold as a pair. They look so charming together!
Their details show their fur lines in their beautiful Cocker ears, fur lines in all the places that distinguish this breed, and big, dark, deep set eyes with eyelids that will just melt your heart! For Cocker Spaniel dog lovers, for chalkware collectors, or for anyone who loves beautiful, sculpted art by a well-known and highly regarded artist…these sweet dogs are the perfect choice!
