This exquisite, hand-painted portrait of a Sealyham Terrier was done on a plate. The plate was manufactured by Universal Potteries of Cambridge, Ohio in the early 1950’s, as part of the “Ballerina” series. It was manufactured as a solid green plate, measuring 7 1/2″ in diameter.
The hand-painted portrait of the Sealyham Terrier was added later, and it is one-of-a-kind. It is artist-signed on the lower right side of the plate. The plate itself is in excellent condition. The portrait shows some wearing of the paint, yet it adds, rather than detracts from its appeal, by giving it a lovely vintage quality. The attention to detail is gorgeous, from the fur lines to the dog’s expressive face.
This wonderful plate is a must-have for any Sealyham Terrier enthusiast, and a fabulous addition to any canine collection.
