Definition:Roselane Pottery

Roselane Pottery dog figurines were produced by the Pasadena, California studio founded by Robert and Georgia Fields in 1938, a staple of the California Pottery movement. Roselane is best known among dog collectors for their ‘Sparkler’ line — small, stylized figurines with inset rhinestone eyes that perfectly capture mid-century American glamour. The rhinestone eyes are the signature feature; pieces with all stones intact and undimmed are the most desirable. Roselane dogs prioritize charm and decorative appeal over strict anatomical accuracy — they have the whimsical, glamour-focused character of 1950s California design. Pieces are identified by the incised ‘Roselane Pasadena Calif’ mark on the base. The studio closed in the 1970s, making all production genuinely vintage.
