This elegant Whippet was modeled after “Winged Foot Marksman of Always”, a Whippet born in 1950, and owned by Charles H Douglas-Todd. This extraordinary Whippet was considered one of the true giants of the breed, holding the breed record of eleven “Best of Breed” awards in his lifetime.

This model #1786A, was designed by Arthur Gredington. for Beswick Pottery in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England. It was first issued in 1961. Measuring 4 1/2″ tall x 5 1/2″ long x 1 3/4″ wide, it is in excellent condition.

This gorgeous dog is not only a fabulous addition to any Whippet, or Beswick collection, it also represents a wonderful story in the history of this amazing breed.
