You can’t help but fall in love with this whimsical, covered powder jar.
Made between 1939-1942, by the Akro Agate Company in Clarksburg, West Virginia, (the company so famous for making marbles.)
It is done in a very pale pink slag glass. There are adorable relief images of Scottish Terrier dogs, prancing all around the lid and the base. One additional Scottie pup, sits proudly on the top.
It is stamped “Made in the United States of America” on the underside of the base.
This wonderful powder jar is in excellent condition. It is 6″ tall x 3 3/4″ in diameter.
The base or “bowl” part of this covered jar is 2″ deep, which makes it perfect to hold anything from cotton balls to jewelry on your vanity, or next to your baby’s changing table.
It would make the most wonderful baby gift. Especially given its pale pink color.
