Dachshund Dog Bronze Pipe Tray and Bookend

This antique, solid bronze pipe tray and bookend has three wonderful Dachshund dogs on the front in high relief. Each one is different, and each absolutely shows a distinctly different personality. The casting is crisp and highly detailed. The base has a shallow tray in front which is also decorated, that was used to support two pipes with their ends extending through the holes between the dogs. The back of this piece also has an extension that can slip under a book, so that the piece functions as a very sturdy, heavyweight bookend. It measures 5″ tall x 6″ long x 4″ wide. It is in wonderful condition, having been made in the early 1900’s. This Dachshund pipe tray and bookend is so unique and charming. The front tray, of course, can be re purposed to hold loose change, stamps, or paperclips on a desk.
