Royal Doulton Cocker Spaniel HN 1078 – Antique Frederick Daws Design – Black & White Parti-Color, c. 1930s-40s

A premier find for the Royal Doulton enthusiast or Spaniel devotee. This HN 1078 English Cocker Spaniel is a rare, early production model designed by the legendary animalier Frederick Daws.

It was designed in 1931 and retired in 1955.

Unlike more common later models, the 1078 is prized for its dignified, alert standing posture and the exquisite hand-painted “ticking” across its coat. The high-gloss glaze perfectly preserves the striking black-and-white parti-color markings. This piece represents the golden era of Royal Doulton’s canine archive and measuring 3 1/2″ tall x 5″ long x 1 1/2″ wide, it is in remarkable, investment-grade condition.
