Porcelain Terrier Dog Fairing
This whimsical porcelain terrier dog fairing, depicts a sweet dog trying his hardest to feign illness.
Fairings were often used to depict humorous circumstances. In this case, perhaps this pup is trying to create an excuse to avoid a bath, or the cat who lives next door.
He sure is putting on a show to look as unhappy as possible.
Fairings were made and hand-painted in Germany and given out at outdoor fairs in England in the early 1900’s.
This fairing was made by Conta & Boehne of Germany.
Measuring 3″ tall x 3 1/2″ long x 2″ wide, it is in excellent condition, beautifully hand-painted, with some numbers impressed on the underside of the base.
Fairings are unique and highly collectible porcelain figurines, and the perfect dog lover’s gift.
This particular fairing, is a special favorite for Labrador Retriever lover’s, and the perfect addition to any porcelain dog collection.
