Description

Presenting a museum-quality masterpiece for the advanced canine antiquarian or porcelain collector: an authentic, late 19th to early 20th-century trinket and pin dish crafted by the historic Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik of Norway.

Measuring 3/4″ tall, 6″ long, and 2 3/4″ wide, this elegant double-handled dish showcases the high-fired translucency and fine craftsmanship that established Porsgrund as Norway’s premier porcelain house. The center of the dish features a masterfully rendered underglaze transfer of an English Pointer in a classic hunting point. The artwork is set against a soft, atmospheric gray-green vignette, capturing the distinct aesthetic essence of antique Scandinavian art pottery.

The underside of the dish features the highly sought-after, early hand-marked blue anchor logo. Pieces from this formative production period showcasing sporting and gun dog themes are remarkably hard to find, particularly in this pristine condition.
