A definitive statement of 1930s luxury, this Art Deco desk tray features not one, but two alert Scottish Terriers standing guard over a luminous sea of stone. The base is carved from a substantial, one-inch thick slab of genuine green onyx, showcasing the translucent mossy veining and high-polished finish characteristic of the finest Austrian deskware.
The terriers themselves are masterfully cast in bronze with a rich, dark patina that perfectly renders the wiry texture of the Scottie coat. This “pair” configuration is significantly rarer than single-dog models, offering a symmetrical and stately presence that commands attention.
This exquisite desk tray is 2 1/2″ tall x 6″ long x 4″ wide and the green onyx tray is about 1″ thick.
The. entire piece is in excellent antique condition.
Whether serving as a resting place for fine pens, a vanity dish for rings, or a focal piece for a Scottie enthusiast’s library, this tray is a heavy, high-quality heirloom of the Art Deco era.
Please note that the last picture with the background (and onyx tray) removed was created just to show you the dogs as clearly as possible, with our camera.
