Capturing all the elegance and quiet dignity of these breeds, this pair of heavyweight glass Borzois or Wolfhounds each stand a full 7 1/2″ tall x 8 3/4″ long x 2″ wide.
They were made by the Vicking Glass Company of New Martinsville, West Virginia in the early 1940’s. It was one of the few designs created just before the company changed the look of their products, immediately following WWII.
These bookends are in excellent overall condition. One has a small chip along the front of the side of the base, very close to the bottom edge (see last picture.) It is hard to see unless you are looking for it.
This wonderful pair of vintage bookends are ready to grace your home as bookends, or as free-standing figurines, or as an important addition to a canine glass collection.
They would also make a wonderful sighthound lover’s gift.
