This wonderful, bronze dog could either be a Bloodhound or a Coonhound. It was originally modelled by Auguste Nicolas Cain, who was a member of the Animalier School in France, was a protege of Pierre Jules Mene, and married to Mene’s daughter.
Sitting quite tall, this gentle giant has a bright, happy expression with what looks like a genuine, open-mouthed smile. He is solid bronze on a dark, marble base, and he is in excellent condition.
He measures a full 10″ tall with a base that is 6 3/4″ in diameter. The detailing is exquisite, with each skin fold and wrinkle adding to the realism of this dog. There is no doubt that his expression can’t help but make you smile.
This is a heavy bronze, so our free shipping is a real plus.
