These incredible Greyhound bookends were created by Jennings Brothers of Bridgeport, CT in the early 1930’s. Like all Jennings Brothers pieces, these exquisite dogs are highly collectible.
They are bronze with a gorgeous, gilded gold finish. Seated on two-tier marble bases, they are in excellent condition. Both the gilded finish and the marble bases are flawless.
Each measures a full 9 3/4″ tall x 6 1/2″ long x 4″ wide, and weighs 3lbs. 10 1/2 oz. The detailing, as on all Jennings Brothers works, is exquisite, highlighting the dogs’ long, lean muscles, and delicate facial features.
Seated on their marble bases, with their noses pointed upward, they strike a truly elegant, Art Deco pose.
