This hand painted Ditmar Urbach dog in black on white, with a touch of red, bright blue and yellow, is not only stunning, it is quite rare. It appears to be a unique cross between a Scottish Terrier and a West Highland Terrier, both being quite popular breeds during the 1920’s ” “ 1930’s. This figurine, also dating from the 1920’s to the 1930’s, is stamped “Handpainted Erphila Czechoslovakia”.
This spectacular dog is in excellent condition with no apparent flaws, which is extraordinary for its age. We love it as a design piece because it catches and holds your attention immediately as you walk into the room. Its whimsical design and unusual colors make it so appealing.
It is a substantial piece, standing 7″ tall, 4″ wide and 5 1/2″ long. A great find for collectors of Ditmar Urbach pottery, or those who just love truly unique collectible canines!
