We have recently become enamored with Wade Whimsies, in particular, “Whimtrays” that also have dogs on them. Manufactured in the 19th century, in Burslem, England and in Northern Ireland by George Wade & Son, Ltd, they became popular in 1983, when they were used as premium giveaways in boxes of Red Rose Tea. Now, highly collectible, they range from miniature single figurines, to more elaborate, decorative items like pin trays, often referred to as “Whimtrays”, used to hold jewelry, coins and other small items. This little gem is 2″ tall x 4″ long x 2 1/2″ wide, and depicts a Fox Terrier Dog jumping over a log. It is in excellent condition with wonderful detail and a high gloss finish. It can be used to hold all sorts of small items, depending on where it is placed… on a desk or dresser or vanity. As a collectible, it is great fun as well! We have four of these enchanting pieces, each with a different dog (please see last picture.) Email us for a special price if you are interested in purchasing the four as a set.
