This exquisite, sterling silver awards medal, from Argentina, depicts a sporting dog, perhaps a retriever, surrounded by a beautifully detailed fox hunting circular horn. The edges of the medal are also decorated with a beautiful leaf design and the words: “Circulo Sportivo De Cazadores”, translated as, “Circle of Sport Hunters.” On the back at the top is a partridge, and below it reads: “Copa Iniciacion” (Induction Trophy) , 2 Premio (2nd prize), the date of issue, and the name of the recipient “J.M. Calviera.” This medal is in excellent condition, and it is 1 1/4″ in diameter. It is unmarked and It weighs 10.9 grams. This is an extraordinary awards medal that would not only be a perfect addition to a collection, but also an exquisite piece to wear as a pendant.
