This absolutely flawless needlepoint, full body portrait of either a Scottish Terrier, or a West Highland Terrier dog is too gorgeous for words. It is amazing how the artist captured such a gentle and sweet expression on this dog’s face. I must say, that I have never seen anything done in needlepoint, quite like it.
The entire piece, including the ornate, gold-painted, wood frame measures 20″ tall x 22 1/2″ wide. The needlework is intricate and flawless, detailing not only the dog’s delicate expression, but also his fur lines, collar and fluffy bow. It has been protectively framed under glass.
The frame, although beautiful, does have some small chips along all sides, as seen in the picture. The frame can be hung as is because the most significant damage has been done along the side where it is not easily seen. The other chips are small, and easily overlooked.
If you collect vintage works in needlepoint, or simply want one to add to a canine wall gallery, this is a truly wonderful choice. As a stand-alone piece, it is stunning as well.
