A wonderful novelty item with a practical purpose. This dog’s tail lifts to open his mouth. Just place a nut inside, push the tail back down and the nut cracks with one try! This hard-working canine is cast in two pieces, and joined by 4 screws that are visible only on the underside of the base. Popular during the early- to- mid 1900’s. This dog shows equally well in a kitchen or as a decorative piece on your mantel. Excellent condition.
