This print of two Scottish Terriers was originally produced by Morgan Dennis of Boston, MA (1896-1960) and then used in 1935 as an advertisement for The Black and White Scotch Whiskey Company. That is when the word “LISTEN” was added to the print. The pair of Scotties were already tilting their heads in the original art, so it worked well to make them appear as though they were actually tilting their heads to listen to the sound of a smoothly running auto engine that used Texaco oil.

Measuring 9 3/4″ tall x 13 3/4″ long, it is in excellent condition. This vintage print is artist-signed, and framed in a simple black wood frame under glass.

It is perfect alone, but it would also be wonderful combined with other Scotties in different mediums: bronze, porcelain, ceramic, glass, or as part of a canine art wall gallery.
