This exquisite, Royal Doulton Collie dog was modeled after a noted champion Collie, “Ashtead Applause”, who was owned by a Mr. Roberts c. 1930. A photo of this champion Collie was published in Hutchinson’s Dog Encyclopedia around that time.
This fabulous Royal Doulton Collie Figurine was issued in 1931 and retired in 1985.
It is one of Royal Doulton’s most beautiful dog figurines. The fur lines on this Collie are exquisitely done, making this porcelain dog figurine look almost real. If you look closely, you will see that the eyes on this dog, are not only gorgeous, but they capture the gentle, sterling character of this fabulous breed.
This vintage, porcelain Collie dog figurine stands 5″ tall x 7″ long x 2″ wide and is in excellent condition. He would make an elegant addition to your Royal Doulton or Collie collection., or, the perfect gift to a Collie enthusiast.
