This beautiful Borzoi dog shows off to perfection, both the power and the elegance of this wonderful breed.
He is marked “Erphila Germany” on the bottom. It was a mark used by the giftware importer, “Ebeling and Reuss” of Philadelphia between 1886 and the 1950’s. The mark is a combination of the letters E & R (Ebeling and Reuss), and the first letters of Philadelphia.
His coloring is very beautiful. It is a soft black against a background of a glossy, crisp white, with touches of caramel. This coloring not only gives the dog dimension, it also adds a “softness” to the dog, that is a characteristic of ERPHILA figurines.
His expression is quite captivating. He has piercing eyes that appear to be glancing upward, which adds immeasurably to his realistic look and “speaks” to his gentle disposition.
Measuring a full 9″ tall x 8″ long x 3 1/4″ wide, he is in excellent condition.
There is some crazing, mostly on the rectangular base, that can be seen in the picture.
As a gift for a Borzoi dog lover, or added to your own collection, he is guaranteed to draw a lot of positive attention.
