This wonderful, standing,Â Standard Poodle was designed and produced by Mortens Studio. At 5″ tall x 5 1/2″ long x 2″ wide, she has fabulous detailing, showing her curly “corded” coat, as well as her distinctive oval eyes.

The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a gift ware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition. This gorgeous Standard Poodle is one of the more difficult to find of the Morten Studio dogs, and she is in excellent condition.

If you collect Mortens Studio canines, then this is an opportunity to add a terrific example of this elegant breed to your collection. As perfect a resemblance as you will ever find, she is certainly a figurine that you will want to include in your Poodle collection.
