One of the “hard-to-find” Mortens Studio dog figurines, this elegant Doberman Pinscher dog is in great condition!

This intelligent, and fearless dog is standing and shown off impeccably with a wonderfully detailed head and face, and a sleek body, done in a high gloss finish.

This fabulous “Dobie” measures a full 6″ tall x 7″ long x 2 1/2″ wide.

The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a giftware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next two decades, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.

This Doberman Pinscher has a touch of expected wear on the tips of her ears, a very tiny chip at the top of her nose, a chip on the lower back of her hind leg, and a very tiny chip at the back of her front paw. The only imperfection that is large enough to be easily seen is the one of the back of her hind leg. All others are barely noticeable, showing up distinctly only under the camera lens.

This fabulous and highly collectible vintage dog figurine is a “must-have” for any collector of Mortens Studio dogs, and a unique and beautiful gift for any Doberman Pinscher dog lover.
