This wonderful Cocker Spaniel is an old figurine from the early years of Mortens Studio.

The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a gift ware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next two decades, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.

Half sitting/ half reclining with her head tilted slightly upwards, you can almost see her story in her eyes.

Measuring 2 1/2″ tall x 3″ long x 1 1/2″ wide, she is in great condition, with a small sprinkling tiny spots with the largest at the tip of her tail.

She has a matte finish which was more common in the earlier pieces.

She is an absolutely exquisite pup, one that would make a wonderful gift to any Cocker Spaniel lover, but we caution you that once you see her, she will be quite difficult to give away!

Don’t forget our free shipping within the USA. All of our items arrive gift-wrapped in our distinctive “houndstooth” paper!
