Mid 19th Century
This gorgeous, Mid-Century Staffordshire Poodle dog has a pair of pups tucked around him.
Made in England c. 1860 – 1880, he is decorated “in the round” (to front and back), and has shredded clay to simulate a Poodle’s
curly coat.

He has a pale pink muzzle with a wonderful, full set of whiskers, and the classic, Staffordshire, almond-shaped eyes. His tail hangs over the edge of the cobalt blue base, that has a thin gilt line, running along the front and half way along each side.

He measures a full 8″ tall x 6 1/4″ long x 3 1/2″ wide. He is in excellent condition with some mild crazing on his body that you would expect on a figurine of this age, as well as a bit of kiln soot caught under the glaze on his back. The puppy on his left has a bit of missing paint on his nose.
