Beginning in the 1930’s, young homemakers would dump out containers of Quaker Crystal Wedding Oats, to find a piece of jadeite tableware. Now, no longer a giveaway item, jadeite (often identified by its milky, light green color), has become highly collectible. Mass-produced from the 1930’s through the early 1970’s, it is heat and stain resistant. This salt & pepper shaker set has a pressed Roman arch pattern on the sides and silhouettes of black standard poodles wearing red collars with bows on each front. The poodles face each other, with one marked “Pepper” and the other marked “Salt”. They have removable, screw-on steel shaker tops. They are in excellent condition, with no visible signs of use.
