This Hubley “Puppo” still bank of a puppy is quite well-known.

This sweet little puppy, sporting a big bow, is looking, with great concern, over her shoulder at a bee that has landed on her.

The very interesting part is that this Hubley cast iron still bank was manufactured under exclusive license from Grace G. Drayton , who was the illustrator who created the Campbell Soup Kids. If you look at this puppy’s face, even with her furrowed brow, she looks just like a Campbell Soup Kid.!

She was manufactured pre-WWII, between the 1920’s – 1930’s. The Hubley Manufacturing Company, located in Lancaster , PA , stopped manufacturing cast iron toys and banks when the war effort required the iron for military use.

She measures 4″ tall x 4″ long x 3″ wide.

Her painted is still in wonderful condition, and it is all original paint, which adds to her value and vintage appeal.

She is missing the bottom plate, which prohibits her original use as a still bank. However, she is otherwise gorgeous and can be used as a decorative piece, or even as a bookend.
