Can we “Fetch” a classic Bulldog
or perhaps another new friend for your consideration?
Here’s a fantastic Jim Beam Bulldog decanter that is not only amazing to look at, but it also carries a bit of history with it! This very cool looking bulldog decanter is wearing a Marine green sweater with khaki lapels, and has a drum leather, studded collar. He is also wearing a helmet with “Devil Dogs” written across the front. According to Marine folklore, the name “Devil Dogs” was given to the Marines by the Germans, as the result of fierce fighting in 1918 by the Marines in France’s Belleau Wood. The dog’s collar was probably added as a reference to the name “Leathernecks”, given to the Marines, which initially referred to the thick leather collar that was part of the Marine uniform from 1798 – 1872. This wonderful decanter is in excellent condition with its original label on the front of the base, and the label , broken, but still in great shape, on the back of the dog’s helmet. The decanter is empty, and clean. It would make an extraordinary gift to anyone who has served proudly in the Marines. As a decorative piece, standing 10″ tall x 5 1/2″ wide, it would add polish and class to any bar or decanter collection.
