This fabulous, antique, sterling silver Match Safe was made by Thomas Millward & Co of Birmingham, England c.1919. The hallmarks for this piece are clearly stamped on the front of the lid.

This fabulous, antique, sterling silver Match Safe was made by Thomas Millward & Co of Birmingham, England c.1919.
The hallmarks for this piece are clearly stamped on the front of the lid. Unique, and rare, this match safe or vesta case has a highly detailed relief of a Scottish Terrier dog. The textured striker portion along the bottom is in excellent condition. It has it’s original, round hoop attached, and the lid opens and closes quite well. It is 1 3/4″ tall x 1 1/4″ wide, and with the exception of some mild scratching, it is in excellent overall condition.
This is an extraordinary piece for a collector, as well as a unique and exquisite gift for any Scottish Terrier enthusiast.
